Coaching Skills for Educational Leaders

Coaching Skills Training is designed to support Leaders to understand and have the flexibility and confidence to use coaching skills with their team and the wider school community. ​

Leaders will be equipped with the tools to enhance their own and their team’s performance and wellbeing. ​

​You will learn about the thinking and psychology that underpins coaching and also apply techniques practically through a range of practice coaching sessions working with real-life issues. ​

All attendees will be supported and challenged throughout.​

Attendees will leave the course with a plethora of coaching ideas, approaches and techniques to use back at school with their teams.​

Each attendee will receive a 1 to 1 (online) coaching session personalised to them and their professional or personal needs to ensure that they give time and care to their own development in order to be able to support and coach others.

Group Coaching in Colleges & Universities

Group Coaching takes place on the campus grounds and is aimed at groups of Students or Staff with a common interest or area of challenge. The ultimate goal of Group Coaching is to share experiences and goals. Your fellow Coachees provide mutual support, encouragement and accountability to you. As a Coach, I will expose you to new coaching tools and models each session and you will coach and be coached by your peers. You will be taught how to coach during the sessions. All Coachees will have their own individual goals and will be individually accountable for these. Group Coaching sessions last anything between 1 and 3 hours, depending on group size and the age of the Students.

Examples of group focus are: Self-Esteem; Confidence; Sense of Purpose; Motivation;  Enjoying the Now;  Negative Self Talk;  Limiting Beliefs;  Perfectionism; Work-Life Balance;  Resilience; Positivity and Aligning Values.

Group Coaching in Education has positive results in the following areas: Increased Motivation; Increased Attainment; Increased Attendance; Increase in Participation, Increase in Positivity and Increase in Enjoyment.

Individual Coaching of Teachers and Leaders

Sessions can take place either face to face in the educational setting or online. As an educationalist myself with ample experience in educational leadership I have experienced first hand the strains and stresses that the day to day job has on educational staff. With budget cuts and Ofsted demands on the increase the wellbeing of staff is concerning in many settings. Individual Coaching is a powerful process for assisting individuals to maximize their potential and achieve what matters to them. As a coach I support my clients to explore their agenda and identify their goals. I challenge my coachees to create strategies to overcome barriers which will enable them to move forward on their journey. I trust my clients’ inner wisdom and believe that they have the answers to a successful journey within them. I hold my clients accountable to themselves about the progress they are making. All goals, actions and timelines are set by the client themselves. Within the sessions I will use a range of coaching tools to support my clients to set and reach goals.

Group coaching enables peer groups to share experiences and goals whilst holding each other to account in a supportive way. A safe space away from school with empathetic, understanding peers who will support and encourage throughout the group coaching journey.

Group Coaching Children in Schools

Coaching children is supporting them to reach their potential, uncover what their passions and goals might be, and help them work towards different avenues of success in ways that are meaningful. It’s rare that we consider the concepts of non-academic goal-setting for children, but why not? This isn’t about putting pressure on children to make hard decisions about their future but encouraging them to be curious about what life might look like for them.

Effective coaching can also help children begin to develop some of the personal skills that will aid them as they get older including:
